Atom 4 puncture repair kit

Post by Charlie » Sat Feb 05, 2022 10:37 pm

Hi can anyone tell me if the puncture repair kit Ariel sells is branded Ariel or if it is a generic one like Airman that a lot of car manufacturers and Parker’s recommend, that I can perhaps pick up elsewhere cheaper also does anyone know anything regarding the rubber floor mats that I have recently seen an Atom with and if the are something Ariel sells or are third party thanks?

Hi Charlie

It’s the Holts Tyre weld ... I don’t think mats are a factory option - lots of people on here have made their own. There are some companies that have made some mats for the earlier Atom variants.

Do a search for mats and it should give you some information.

Sorry but I do not believe it is holts tyre weld for the 4 I have seen the kit was an extra on the options list for £47 inc VAT surely they are not charging that for something £3 out of Halfords?

If you look at this photo for an Atom 4 for sale, you'll see it is indeed Holts Tyre weld.

Looking at the photo however, I think the £47 reflects the fact that Ariel have fitted a cradle into the front storage compartment to stop it rolling around. To be honest a cloth would do the same thing, but it wouldn't look as neat.

For most options, you can go to the factory website and select the Atom options page.

Left clicking on the option item brings up a photo and some additional description of the option.
(Not a particularly good photo for this one!)

What’s strange is that they fit the smallest size which is only good enough for 14” tyres, despite running a larger combo of tyres
You can fit the medium and large cans if you mount them the other side of the cubby hole. Just fit with two black terry clips like the factory

Yes thanks I was thinking of a small fire extinguisher mount like taxis use but can’t seem to find any

Reference the size, need to bear in mind that the tyre only needs around 14 psi compared to double that for most other cars.

According to this thread on another forum it appears you have to use the tin for the correct size of wheel even for motorbikes but tech dept. Weren’t really sure by sound of it and you can stop the can before finished apparently. https://www.versys.co.uk/index.php?topic=22653.0
