Dymag Refurbished

Post by IanG » Tue Jul 16, 2019 6:42 pm

Last September I brought a set of dymags
I noticed they were Gloss Black
After a few outings I noticed that the lacquer was chipping of
As work has taken over I through a good time to have them refurbished

Wheels were chemically stripped first... Very thick paint on all!! The rears I reckon at some point have been stripped/blasted in the past!!

Once we removed the old powder you can clearly see signs of the old white primer paint that has filled the roughed area mainly on the outside of the wheel

They have all been chromated now.. Next stage (tomorrow) will be my pre-heat process followed by powder coat in my satin black.

So good he’s on my third set of wheels 😂 I’ve just picked up a set of Dymags I’d left after picking them up on here a couple of months back!
Steve work is first class and he’s a pleasure to deal with, These have just had two coats of ceramic wheel on to keep the brake dust at bay 👌

Did you have the same problem I had, in that as soon as I applied the wheel protector, the Dymag stickers came off? Not that it matters, as I prefer them without. Steve's a good bloke.
