Wow, good to know. Anyone know if an Aton has ever been “TWOC’d”?

Even so, I think I’ll sleep easier knowing that there is a big lump of steel deterring any would be Neds from trying to carry the Atom off in the night.

I know that most people slate Liverpool calling it a joy rider's paradise, but I've never had anyone try to get into my garage, which has a Henderson remote control electric up-and-over mechanism that was fitted in 1990.
The original twist handle halfway up the door has been disconnected inside, so I manually slide the two bolts to secure it further when I don't need to open it, plus switch the power off to the electric mechanism.
This was deemed to be very good security by the Firearms Department of Merseyside Police, when the cannon I have stored in there as well, was listed on my Firearms Certificate.

As I don't use the cannon for reenactments any more, it's now been taken off my Firearms Certificate and can't be fired and it doesn't have to be locked up at all, so I suppose the best Garage Door security would be to stand it in front of it pointing outward to deter potential thieves. 8)

Hey Andrew(300),

What additional garage security do you recommend?

I have some good quality doors fitted to my garage under a PIR light for scare purposes.

What would you recommend? There is nothing of value in my garage other than 2 cars. Which you can't remove anyway due to being blocked in on the drive by another 1-2 parked alarmed car(s).

Cheers
Peter

Had this Garage Defender fitted. I use this plus a wall anchor. It won’t stop a determined thief, but it will slow them down (hopefully long enough).

Does that not scream "I've got something worth having"?

It may do, but I had a lock-up once in Thatcham (don’t ask). The guy with the garage next to mine had padlocks and a garage defender. Inside was his Vauxhall Corsa.
