Great, thanks!

Did 180km today and enjoyed it so much.

I have some trouble with the water coolant sensor,
the dash shows high temperature >100degree celsius, but the cooling hoses are not that hot.
I already removed the thermostat.

On the rover engine the sensor is mounted directly at the exit of the hot water.

Is this a common problem?

Has anybody used 14" wheels with 185/60R14 tyres in past?

Currently there are heavy technomagnesio 15/16" wheels fitted. We have so many bumpy roads here, so it would be helpful to get ligther rims.

The Atom is known to be tricky in refilling the coolant as you need to remove any air locks in the system otherwise the water doesn't get pumped through to the radiator very efficiently.

Do a search on here to read about the best way to refill the water system.

I've not heard about anyone using 14" wheels ...

I am also not aware of any 14" wheel option.
Regarding the weight you could chose the standard alternative wheels Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 as replacement for the heavier Technomagnesio. The weights are mentioned in different threads.
You can get them e.g. from Team Dynamics Germany, from Demon Tweeks or directly from Ariel.
The difference with the ones from Ariel is, that they perhaps are slightly more expensive but they are not stamped with "Team Dynamics Motorsport" and you get Ariel caps. And from Ariel you can get them immediately instead of waiting 6+ weeks for the delivery.

14" wheels were standard on the Atom 1, and the same size all round meant you could swap them around for extra wear.

I found a very light set rims in 14x5", just 4.8kg each, they are from a VW Lupo FSI.
I will use 185/60R14 tyres.

Is the PCD different for Atom 1 and 2?
Just wondering whether VW use 4x100 while the Atom 2 fits 4x3.75" (?)

I guess that is due to the lack of registration possibility for new and meanwhile also for used Atoms in the rest of Europe.
That could be a benefit for owners with street legal Atoms regarding asking price in the near future...
This will lead to very different prices on the used car market between the UK and the rest of Europe.

No, John 48500 Euro ~ 43000 GBP  >:D

The best place for this car is here http://www.motorworld.de/en/ as donation.

He is a dreamer and is hoping to find an jerk who is paying so much money for an Atom 1.

It's correct what @Tobi Z. says.
The price here in Germany is much much higher - for a street legal car and with existing registration papers - as in UK.
It named consisted protection but a new ariel 3.5 - no way to get a registration.
From outside Germany, new or used - no way to get a registration.

AND starting 2018 we all get big problems here passing TÜV (MOT) because they have aggravated the checks by law. (Thx to all car makers who have/had cheated (ECU)).
The probability is absolutly high, that the Ariel lost his registration papers because the Ariel had never fulfilled the EURO 4 regulation and the exhaust emissions are too high.

Just curious, why is it the european people can come as it is so easily to live and work in UK and we can even get our cars registered over there. My understanding was all was equal throughout europe or is it just one rule for one issue and another for us brits
