Hello from Germany
Hello from Germany
Hello,
I am Walter from Germany, I joined the AAOC because I bought an Ariel Atom 3 300
from the German importer. I bought the car last month and when all goes well I can collect
it at 22 Aug. I was shocked to see the delivery dates on the forum. The German importer
orders each two month two Atoms so the delivery time is two month max.
Is here on the forum the possibility to buy Ariel merchandise like T-shirts, decals, caps?

Re: Hello from Germany
Hi Walter, welcome. Glad to hear you could get the car so quickly - lots of folks over here will be very jealous! I hope that you have loads of fun with it when it arrives. Post some photos when it comes so we can all see your pride & joy!

Hi, Walter
Ariel will be selling their own merchandise on the arielmotor.co.uk website sometime soon...no-one knows exactly when...

First Atomised 2001.
Atom (165) > Atom 2 (220) > Atom 3 (300) > Atom 3.5 (310) > Atom 4 (350).
There is no cure.

Re: Hello from Germany
I will post some photos, here on the forum the Atom is mainly used as a track day car.
I bought the Atom because it is so beautiful; I also have a Porsche 993 just to look at it
I drive it only 1000 km a year. For incidental track use I have got a Super Seven

Walter : Welcome
if you have no delivery time or a very short one, it's only because your importer has not enought order for the quantity of cars he had ordered itself (about 10/year i imagine) .... If tomorrow 12 german customers give him an order, some of them will wait near one year ...

Welcome!
With the two month lead time, was it possible for you to select the options you wanted, or was the Atom pre-configured to some spec?
It would take careful planning (and good fortune) for the importer to have cars going into assembly (the last time options can be changed) just as customers arrive who want to purchase an Atom.
Here in the US built times have varied, as some of us ordered cars before the previous US factory (Brammo) had constructed any Atoms. And some Atoms were built out of sequence due to parts not being available. One of the more amusing events was the "company" (actually, a single person) that was making a component decided they didn't want to do that any more and went on a permanent vacation, leading to a scramble to find a new supplier. Then there was the shortage of AO48 tires, and a cargo container of wheels that was damaged when ocean water got into the packaging.
The new US factory (TMI) seems to have things well in hand.
But 2 months is an incredibly short time to wait - congratulations!
By the way, we sort of have an unwritten rule here that new owners should post a picture of their Atom

Re: Hello from Germany
Of coarse I will post a picture here, when the Atom is in my garage.
I could select the options I wanted; I only had to take the 300hp
version. The German importer knows the car very well, and advised
me what options I should take, maybe he sold me a car that already was
on itâ??s way to him. I donâ??t care I just want the Atom in my garage.

Hi Walter, welcome to the forum.
You are indeed a lucky fellow with such a short wait, I'm 15 months into an 18 month stretch.
Good luck and pls post photos and first impressions.

@ DADOH
it must be very hard for you, do you have something else to play with?
Why donâ??t they build more cars when the demand in the UK is so big.
In Belgium itâ??s eight month waiting time. I think the UK costomers
are being fooled by the factory.
