Evening all,

My names Damian and I’m from the Manchester area

I’ve worked in the experience day sector for the last couple of years alongside my normal insurance job and have fallen for the Atom to the point I’m now at point of purchasing.

Now, purchasing is kinda sorted but insurance is a different story I’ve sent off a few quote requests to the forum list but I’m wondering what people’s experiences are with driveway storage?

I’m likely going to get a tracker, my daily has one so seems only fair

But is there anything else I can do? All my NCB is on my daily so will essentially be starting from scratch.

Welcome. Sounds like you've got a great part-time job there. I don't think any of the current Atom insurers will cover an Atom unless it is garaged, at least that it what I have found over the last few years. They'll also require you to have had experience with a high performance car. As long as you do a limited mileage, quite a few insurers don't require an NCB. For such a specialist car, you are better off ringing the insurance brokers, rather than sending a web enquiry. A-Plan Thatcham 01635 874656, REIS 0115 965 1020 and Classicline 01455 639000 are always competitive for me. Good luck.

Thanks Fastlane, I’ve had a few high performance cars so tick that box

Garage is a whole other issue maybe patio doors on the front of my house will do the trick

It’s a good part time job when it’s sunny, not so in the rain, lots of cold and very very wet.. although I guess that stands me in good stead for NC500 in the atom next year all being well

Would an Outdour Carcoon or similar help the insurance company? It would at least mean the Atom is out of sight.

Also membership of the club is smiled on by some underwriters as it shows that you are more likely to be a considerate and care taking owner.

I transfered my NCB from my daily drive (Octavia vRs) and started again on that, worked out a lot less overall.

MSM have kindly informed me that my postcode is blacklisted Even though the car won’t be at my address… onto the next one..

I’ll have a chat about that although they seemed happy to mirror my NCB?
