Hello - new atom 3.5 owner
Hi All
After years of drooling and and a couple of fun sessions in atom at Palmer Sport, I have finally acquired one and took delivery on Tuesday just in time for the long Easter weekend. Hope the weather is good!
I am in North Somerset, just under an hour to the factory which is handy.
Look forward to meeting some of you in due course.

Morning and welcome!
Did you buy it from the factory? It's a bit different driving it on your own don't ya find?
Photos and spec please.

Thanks chaps. It’s a 245, done less than 5000 miles, looks brand new. Fairly basic spec, but will look to add this over the next twelve months, big brake kit probably first on the list.
Went out for first outing earlier today over the mendips with my son, which was brilliant. I know it is a head turner but didn’t quite expect the attention you get!

Great colour combination. Look forward to meeting you at one of our outings somewhere
Re: Hello - new atom 3.5 owner
Welcome. Very nice - that was the one for sale at Targa Florio in Bentley Barnato Green I believe! https://www.targafloriocars.com/used/ca ... om/3-5-472
It looked immaculate with full factory history and the right spec for a road car. Being so close to the factory is great, but it does leave you open to (expensive) temptation - looks like you've already realised that, so enjoy "personalising" it!
I have owned my Atom for 7 months and I am still shocked at people's (positive and often slightly mad) responses. I came up behind a car in front of me yesterday and the driver suddenly started waving his "rock fist" out of his window, pulled over to let me past and started peeping his horn too! I then had a biker (they will often nod at you) follow me for several miles in traffic, then slowly overtake me and then keep looking over his shoulder before shooting off again. A mile later he had pulled up at the side of a busy road specifically to say "that must be very quick" as I went past! You will also get people in cars taking photos of you when you come up behind them or when they (or more likely you) overtake them. Kids at the side of the road will often shout for joy! It seems that an Atom (and a Nomad no doubt) brings not only joy to its owner, but also the world around it.
(P.S. You may want to invest in a mirrored visor, assuming you have a helmet, to add to the mystique/anonymity!)
Cheers from Cornwall.

You’re so right! I’ve had my Atom a few months now, and all the lovely cars I’ve owned before, nothing grabs attention like an Atom.
It’s so funny!! Bikers, mature ladies putting up their thumbs, cars pulling over, toddlers screaming and pointing..... that was just from today !
Does anyone else think they need some sort of government warning on them too? I decided to take the wife out for the first time yesterday, we ended up at Caffeine and Machine, approx 1hr 45mins away, I did drive fairly hard.
She’s still not talking to me, migraine all day, she tells me she has whip lash. I must admit, I often feel like I’ve done a couple of rounds with Mike Tyson after a drive.
I can’t get enough of it though, best purchase EVER!
Enjoy!

Re: Hello - new atom 3.5 owner
I don’t think there is any chance in getting my wife out for a ride, whilst she was supportive of the acquisition there is absolutely no interest in going out in it, despite the numerous offers. I did manage to get my mother out in it though, she is already asking when we can go out again!
so lucky to have just got car and then have the weather and an extra long weekend. Managed an early morning trip up Cheddar Gorge before the masses arrived.

Re: Hello - new atom 3.5 owner
Great photos and great weather Gordon. My wife sounds like yours, although she went out in mine when I first got it for about 20 minutes - she insisted I didn't go above 50 or accelerate quickly, which I didn't and has no interest in ever going in it again. My two daughters (aged 13 & 16) find it far too embarrassing to be seen in and have refused point blank to ever go out in it.
Tony (CAG3D) - you are a braver man than me! I hope she is talking to you again.
Bearing in mind how quiet the forum is, I assume most of us are out and about enjoying our Atoms/Nomads. Long my it continue!

I've never seen Cheddar's Gorge looking so inviting - good work!
I'm normally solo in my Nomad. The missus has done a few trips but mainly she's happy to leave me to work through another midlife crisis.
I do force the girlchild out occasionally. It's a great way to stop white vans and Golf GTIs wanting to race you off the lights (yawn).
Hopefully see you around Gordon39 - enjoy the car!

Evo did a good piece last year on the Atom 4 vs Caterham 620S, with photos from a very wet Cheddar George, so you are in good company!
