Club member but access to club areas is blocked

On registering I signed up to be a club member and payed the yearly dues, yet I still don't have access to any of the club member areas.  Does it take a while before the membership activates?  Is there more I have to do to gain access to the additional club member areas?

It is a manual process.  Someone will be along shortly to open the door.  Banging loudly does seem to get it open more quickly though
