Hi from a new Scottish owner.....who really wants the weather to improve!!

Hi All,

Have taken the plunge and took delivery of an Atom 3 300 yesterday  ;D

Last two cars were a Noble M12 (superb car but just too unreliable...and dare I say it...too slow) followed by a Porsche 996TT, which although a great car was more of a tourer than a racer. Can't wait to enjoy the Atom....would be great to hear from any other Scottish Atom owners.

Any tips and advice greatly appreciated...although I reckon I have a few days reading on this forum to go so will try and avoid asking too many daft questions that have been asked many times!

Now....just need to sort out Insurance...Admiral weren't interested which was a shame as they have me a great multicar deal on the Porker (£300!!!)

Welcome to the forum, H.

Was just browsing your questions on the PH forum. Reliability isn't really much of an issue, so you can relax on that front.

You're going to love the car – and in one of the best parts of the country to enjoy it.

Welcome to the forum.

Not terribly nice weather to be taking delivery this week, although not to different from summer 2012.

I live in Broughty Ferry (near Dundee) which means great roads nearby and also Knockhill and Crail less than an hour away  :vroom:

Looking forward to a few meets! Must admit have a good selection of petrol head mates (one of the few advantages of working in Aberdeen) so always up for some hooning!

So, has anyone bought the Ariel jacket from the factory? Quite fancy it, but wondering about sizes etc!?

Its a nice jacket and good quality for the money, equals more expensive motorjackets. I'm 185cm and weigh 86kg, fits perfectly, size L.

Don't worry about sizes, they'll swap it if it doesn't fit.

It's been designed to work with the car, including having slightly longer sleeves like a bike jacket because of the position you'll be in when driving. When you try it on, make sure you check that it fits when you're in the Atom driving position...

Good to see another Scottish Atom. I've got mine up in Inverness just now but it's a wee bit cold and wet to take it out of the garage. PT

Thanks for all the replies.......tempted to take it out today as the roads dried out and the temp hit a mighty 9 degrees!

Alas! No insurance yet!

Off to Dubai (for work) in a couple of days for 2 weeks so will just have to wait :-[

Thanks again!
