Would a Quaife equipped 4 with the 350 upgrade be under £70k?

A 90 mile 4 car is being sold for less than 70k, so easy question to answer if you like the value of your investment to be the same after a year or so

The Quaife is a much cheaper gearbox. They didn't shift enough Sadevs for 22k, so needed a cheaper alternative. That's from the horse's mouth.
Would a 70k 3.5R be worth less a year later?
I suspect not.

FWIW - When my Atom was rebuilt by Steve et al at the factory, from the frame up, as a 3.5R in 2018 I was told that adding the Sadev sequential gearbox to the standard manual 3 5R upgrade would add an additional (north of) £30,000 to the upgrade costs - including labour and VAT!

The £22,200 cost for the Sadev is only for a box of gearbox parts sat alongside the car!

Having seen a couple of bills for the Sadev boxes when it's time to refresh them I think you need to be a fairly committed track day fan to get the most out of the investment. Purchasing used, I would ask for a documented refresh for the gearbox pre-sale.

1. A top mate has a Sadev in his Britcar, took it out for a service, Sadev gave it back saying nothing needs doing.
2. Ariel had a very similar experience with their demonstrator I've been told.

I have absolute confidence they are bulletproof. From what I understand they're designed for cars with a lot more than 350hp.

Mine hasn't skipped a beat and I don't expect it ever to cost me a penny.

I have the sadev in my nomad R. I recall asking Henry about maintenance when I was committing to the buy. He said once run in they are bullet proof and won’t require any special maintenance. Time will tell but it’s an amazing piece of engineering. Transforms the car completely!

The sadev is designed for much HEAVIER cars. I think that contributes to the bullet proof”ness”

The 3.5R for sale a few months back was a special build from a forum member, slightly more power etc, orange frame..... He spent quite a lot on the box servicing, although it lived on track. It's a race box, designed for one thing and one thing only. I'd have to drive the Quaife before making a decision. If it was a pain when not 'on it' I doubt i'd bother. I do love the drama of them, but for me, and for a road car, marginal gains at £15K.

Good evening all. I'm new on an will do the proper intro's but i actually went to see this car. only 432 miles and it is so box fresh its crazy. not so much as a spec of dust on it. this was actually what put me off as I'm looking to predominently track mine; it just felt too good to use! Off to view a supercharged 2 this weekend as the price point seems better for what i want to use the car for.
