Good luck with the sale Graeme. A great spec and I'm sure it won't hang around long.

What's replacing it?
Atom 2 160 (05-11) / Atom 3 245 (12-19 ) / Nomad 300 (22-)

Thanks Stu. An Atom 4 sometime early Ish next year.

I don’t want to sell Karl, but now is prob the best time rather than next winter. I’d love to continue driving for the rest of what’s left of this limited season

Are you up for coming out to play between now and selling the car Graeme, or is she tucked away now?

I must admit, I am kinda tempted to take her myself ;-)

Good luck Sir. Looking forward to seeing you on the other side...

Best colour. Best wheels. And a really comprehensive spec. Should sell very quickly.
First Atomised 2001.
Atom (165) > Atom 2 (220) > Atom 3 (300) > Atom 3.5 (310) > Atom 4 (350).
There is no cure.

Looks very tidy Graeme. Can I ask how you found the upgraded light weight fly wheel?

Simon the lightweight flywheel was recommended as part of the upgrade to supercharge the car with K24 engine. I drove for 2 years on normal fly wheel and when I got the light weight flywheel it made quite a difference to how the car drove.

Reving more freely and less of a distinct boundary between foot on throttle and foot off. On the normal flywheel when u took your foot off the throttle there was a more marked change in the engines momentum. Nothing to complain about, but it was absent with the smaller flywheel which I preferred. The engine felt more responsive in the move, and it wasn’t the supercharger. There was a couple of months gap between fitting the lighter flywheel and fitting the charger. I had the flywheel fitted at a service then there was a wait before Ariel could get more chargers in stock.

The down side of the lighter flywheel is when stationary and pulling off. Particularly on an incline it is more prone to stalling if u don’t get it just right amount of throttle. I noticed this in the alps last year at a number of roadworks. With the normal flywheel you don’t have to think about it too much. Just like a normal car.

I assume u asking as an option on the 4? It’s one option on the list I’m still wavering on. I don’t know how much of a difference it makes in that engine? I guess I will discuss with Ariel. I certainly preferred the lightweight flywheel on my current car

I'd certainly go for the lightweight flywheel. The way the revs climb in neutral is pretty exciting, no inertia just a very rapid whap, whap sort of noise.

A
Beautiful 2000 XJR, last ever supercharged Atom, Fiesta Active, 'Verstappen' Honda e, Focus, Jaguar iPace, Volcano Yellow, MSO Black Pack 720S Spider.

Thanks for that. Yes I am asking regarding the Atom 4 as I am sure it will be similar. I will be getting a sequential gearbox fitted when ever my car can get scheduled in - post my test drive on Monday in the demo car and was thinking to have the light weight flywheel fitted at the same time. A demo video would be awesome! I wish we had more demo videos of the Atom comparing different features.
