Re: Wanted atom 2 160
think 160 plenty for on roads and that's all I want it for so surely it's the ideal one for insurance cost and things
Re: Wanted atom 2 160
well I was reading a article on them and I'm sure it said the 160 is the most "road freindly" or somthing among them lines so thats what I was aiming for , not set in stone and would consider a faster one but just hoping someone may be wanting a quicker one them selfs and wanting to sell their own 160 to upgrade

dc5ian's right. The 160s are pretty rare now. You could be waiting a long time.
You have more chance of finding a 220 or 245. They're perfectly road-friendly, too.

First Atomised 2001.
Atom (165) > Atom 2 (220) > Atom 3 (300) > Atom 3.5 (310) > Atom 4 (350).
There is no cure.

The 160 is perfect for road use, i had one for a year, and it only ever felt lacking on track where it struggled around 100 mph. The balancer shafts make it a lot smoother than the 220/245/300.
Re: Wanted atom 2 160
Well that's what I want then ! Won't be Goin near 100 so would well suit me !! Can't wait to get one !!
Re: Wanted atom 2 160
You'll be waiting a long time for a 160. It may be worthwhile calling the factory to ask how many were built in the first place; they may also have a clue on how many are left, too, more pertinently.
The 220 is becoming relatively scarce now as well. If I were you I'd hone in on one of those - or a 245 - rather than a 160. The road friendliness argument is tenuous, to say the least, as others have said.
Cheers,

Proof of the pudding is in the driving too, so if you've not already been out in one then go test drive a few. Sure the 245 is as docile or mad as you want it to be.
Re: Wanted atom 2 160
Theirs a yellow 220 on autotrader that keeps catching my eye anybody know any details on it ?
Re: Wanted atom 2 160
From what i have seen its all about price, spec and condition with Atoms.
Its not a case of a few models to chose from. The cars all have variable spec, with different components like brakes suspention and cosmetic stuff.
You may really want something specific, like adjustable suspension (so you can go soft for a cruise or wind it up for some quicker stuff), or even a windscreen (Atom 3 only)? Those are the sort of things that make a big difference to the ownership experience.
From what you have said avoid s/c models (275, 300, etc) but otherwise don't discount anything.
All Atoms are a challenging exciting drive.
Good luck with your search.

Atom 4, Clio v6, & some other cars obviously.

This. Perfectly possible to pootle round town without any problems. Likewise, push the the accelerator to the stops and its absolutely manic. Its your right foot making the difference.
