Re: Atom 2 or 3 wanted
There's a chap on Facebook who has just responded to a wanted ad by a dealer on the Ariel Club Facebook page who looks like he is potentially selling his: Steve Jo King - his profile pictures show a yellow 3 with aerokit and windscreen, and his website address on the Atom is www.rjking.co.uk. Might be good to get in first before the dealer sees it?
You might want to post up your budget, as "sensible" can insinuate cheap...

I'd get a 2 in front of a 3, personally speaking.

Re: Atom 2 or 3 wanted
In NA form at least, the FBW throttle was a total nightmare in my car. Bunny hopped like you wouldn't believe. The only solution to it, as I recall, was fitting a supercharger - something I was against (I didn't want a charged car). The NVH levels were considerably improved over the 2 I had & the uprights a lot more solid/ reliable. That said, my uprights failed on the first track day I had out in my 3 - something that had never happened in the 2 (which I tracked a lot).
Maybe I had a bit of a Friday afternoon car, who knows, but I ended up preferring the rawness of the 2 in the end. The 3.5 really was different, however. The extra .5 moniker didn't really do it justice - though of course it made sense to name it as such.

Thanks, I've been deliberating the pro and cons of the 2 & 3 allot over the last few months and will be running both over the summer but i can definitely relate to what you say regards the rawness of the 2Hedge wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2019 9:44 pm In NA form at least, the FBW throttle was a total nightmare in my car. Anyone know of anything else for sale??
Re: Atom 2 or 3 wanted
An Atom 3 310 and 3.5 310 (which looks v cool) just appeared in the fatory's used section. Well over budget but I doubt they'd loose much over 2 yrs
Re: Atom 2 or 3 wanted
Wow - £46k for the 3 and £50k for the 3.5 - those are healthy prices even for factory approved cars. I imagine those prices reflect the increasing interest in Atoms, driven by the 4.
NigelS - you may want to revise your budget. As Smokin says, I doubt you'll lose much, if any, money on these over the next few years.
Makes me glad I bought mine last year!
