Re: Massa suffers serious injury - helmet strike by Barrichello's broken suspension
Last year while traveling on the highway in my Z3 a rock the size of a small fist flew out from under a car in front of me. Since the sun had just reappeared, i slippedi n my Oakleys... When the rock hit the windshield, it incrusted itself in the glass pushing in the cabin hundreds of little glass shards!!!! A minute or two before and i would have been probably blinded... Since then, i always wear Oakleys (not that i ever wear anything else) under the closed helmet...
Some pros have definitely hinted at side panels and a roll bar...

Interesting. Sunglasses and a helmet...not heard of people doing that before.

I do that in preference to a tinted visor. With straight arm style glasses (Oakleys in my case also) they push straight on with only a minimal amount of pain

Not recommended in tunnel areas...!
Better to have a flip down tinted internal sun visor a la Schuberth and Nolan.

The internal visor on the Schuberth (and I presume the Nolan) just flips up one handed so you can jump between dark and light really easily. Had mine for about a month and think it's excellent

Oh. My sunnies are photochromic. Not instantly fast at adjusting but then we don't have too many road tunnels in NZ. Especially without lights in them.
