So, John, how do you feel about a car as utterly magnificent as the Murcielago SV then? Do you really think it would have ever existed without Audi's backing?
I can see that from a nostagic angle it's a sad day, but otherwise I see a lot of positives to it....

shame for the comany true but Wiedeking tried to be too clever by half embarking on a massive ego trip fuelled by top of the market banking excess.  He got what he deserved (and $50m more that he didn't).

it only seems like 5 minutes ago that porsche were ridiculously minted, were going to turn into a bank etc  having hedged the vw shares so well

how the mighty have fallen!

Theres no doubt Lambo have done very well from VAG but lets be honest they were a big of sh1t so could only get better.  Porsche have no peers when it comes to quality, driver dynamics and heritage imo

Personally, I always think its a sad, sad day when a (relatively) small, specialist marque is swallowed up by a monopolised giant.  Often inevitable, rarely a good thing in the longer term

As to Weeeeeideking, he did some incredible things with Porsche in his first few years, making them the most profitable car company in the world but has certainly lost the plot recently with an expanding but ugly chassis line and a bodged VW buyout

Serves them right big time.Windyking, Piech and the lot of them have been taking the piss big time, for a long time. Can't believe he's getting such a big pay off either. Bet the firm on a big financial bet that went wrong, then manages to walk off with a fortune. Fred Goodwin eat your heart out.
