Just watch the build show and said to myself..hey...these could be faster than F-1 cars....

Nice looking design. Hope they do well.

So far so good - Scott Dixon qualified the Acura LMP1 on pole for Sebring's 12 hour race, ahead of the factory Audi and Peugot diesels.

It was Speed channel,and I am sure they will air it again. It is a definite car guy(or gal) watch.

4gs. The car is unique in Acuras desire to build a different approach to going fast.

The front tires are the same width as the rears.

Hard to see,as they are covered,but it is amazing. Designed from scratch on computers.

The drivers spent days in this incredible simulator mounted on 4 hydraulic posts,all computer operated, determining how the car was coming together.

The car was in the raw..flat black CF through much of its development. Stunning!!

The pictures above show the old LMP-2 car(top),with narrow tires,and the new LMP-1 car(bottom) with the monster front tires.

I'm amazed at how high the ride height is. I'm surprised that the underbody aero is optimised riding so far off the ground, but maybe it's class regs.

One of the reasons I have always enjoyed the Lemans series is the way the cars sit: it looks like you could drive them on real roads.

so what's the real explanation? Since usually winning is more important than a traditional look. And that extra wind scoop isn't helping the aerodynamics at all
