Then why the obvious cutout in the rear bodywork for a LICENSE PLATE?

They all have that.  Why the race numbers and scuderia race shields (which should only be on race cars IMO they look wa*k on anything else)

Modern cars should look....modern.  I hate when they make retros. It just seems so...pointless. I don't think retro is a step in the proper direction,no matter how civliized it may seem.  It is done for the cool factor, and nothing else.
Not what car designing is all about ,in my eyes. Let's move foreward. ;D

Some day I hope to be so filthy rich I can afford a 250 Ferrari :tu:

Nah,I would still rather have a garage full of Atoms. ;D Truth.

You totally missed my point.  I wasn't talking about classic racing. I was talking about a street driven car. The modern AC Cobra for example. Much better suspension, brakes etc... And even then, maybe they build their copies/clones close enough to the originals they meet the criteria to be raced in a classic series...

Hmm

I think you've missed the point... The point is that the car that's the subject of this thread is a racing car. It's not meant for going to get pizza or taking the kids out to the leisure centre...

Anyone ripping off a racing car and rebuilding it as an SUV needs help...

[/quote]

I think you've both missed the point as the subject of the thread is colour and specifically that the Ferrari is BLACK and not Red.  :tu:

I just thought that it looked so sexy in BLACK (with or without the eyelashes Image) and the fact that it might be a racing car had nothing to do with it.

I like the black too. Even on a more utilitarian, everyday driver kind of car -

That's code for the fact that Enzo told Bruce "in confidence" that he was thinking about buying some black paint  ;D

Four years (or whatever Alec works out is the exact time) on the forum enables me to interpret code like that.

By all accounts fantastic to drive.  From first hand experience however the interior is sh1t but ok for the money and you can / do get a head up display which makes up for the Mr Kiplings cake tray style plastics.

I saw a 288 GTO in black once - very cool and menacing looking.

I found out later that they only came in red from the factory.  Hence it's hard to find a decent picture.
