Nissan GT-R: Launch Control to Major Tom

The subject of data recorders and the fact that Nissan's will tattle on you if drive a GT-R with the Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) turned off came up in another thread.  Here's an interesting article - apparently some transaxles are getting munched by (repeatedly) engaging the launch control with VDC off.

Well, Edmunds is on board:  :)

"As sophisticated as the GT-R is, there's no single component aboard this starship that's more technically advanced than the transaxle.  ...  This is simply one of the most technologically advanced automotive components on Earth."

It could have 10 intel chips in there with 25 miles of carbon nanotubes and 50 gm of polonium coating the gears which are made of alloy 1090 derived from authentic katana's from the 1500's and saffron flavored gearbox oil made from milking poison dart frogs of the amazon and it still doesn't matter if it grenades at 4500rpm.

If you haven't seen the video about Hitler's GT-R, you've GOT to see it.  It is my favorite GT-R video, by far!

It's filled with inkjet printer ink.  Has to be - there's no other way.
