Alonso to leave McLaren

Good riddance  :tu:

Just heard this on the news too - I agree with you Jon.  Hopefully he'll end up at some mid field or tail end team where he'll win exactly nothing next year.

Actually, all I hope for next season is some decent, fair racing and no rediculous scandals.

it would be fantastic if he went to Spyker, then it would be a dream team with him and Sutil...

red bull and toro rosso have 2 confirmed drivers, Maybe Renault, but i would have thought Toyota and williams as runners to get the signature...

Renaults car has been cack all year apart from in the rain...

news just in, Gary Paffett seen testing 08 Prodrive chasis in France (the news is about a week old)

Also Prodrive, they have no confirmed drivers, but Spengler, De La Rosa, Scot Speed and Alonso are on the list along with Paffett...

Some motoring websites claim that prodrive may have to pull out, as the cars are knowhere near ready, and crash testing found the cars to be illegal

oh by the way, Spyker is now called Force india

lots of driver rumours, but not Alonso...

In some ways I would like to see Alonso with Williams leading a re-resurgence of that particular team, probably his best option as things stand and Toyota could help out with the money (Williams - Lexus perhaps )

well Rosberg hasn't really shined this season, if anything the OAP Alex Wurz did better than him this season...

Toyota or Prodrive must be his best option...

Really???
Rosberg scored 20 points in 2007. Wurz scored 13 points in 2007.
Rosberg out-qualified Wurz 15 times in 2007. Wurz only out-qualified Rosberg once in 2007.

Dex, you really are full of sh1t sometimes...

no podium for Rosberg or fastest lap, unlike 2006...

still BMW Sauber will be right up the sharp end next year along, with Force India

i don't rate the younger drivers, i prefer the 'good old boys'...

I withdraw my use of the word "sometimes" from my previous post.

No its not - its just annoying when you pay no attention at all to what you post. In fact, your last post about Rosberg is another good example - Rosberg had no podiums in 2006 - so why say it? In the same way that Wurz didn't do better than him in 2007 - so why say it?

I think his reply to one of Bruce's recent posts might answer that question:-

Sometimes, Dex, you amaze me with your obscurity.
