F1 - 2007 season - includes spoilers
Re: F1 - 2007 season - includes spoilers
Sorry, Mick had a go in 1998...
After his success in Grand Prix motorcycle racing he got a chance to test a Formula One racecar, the Williams FW19, at Circuit de Catalunya, Spain, in April 1998. Despite posting lap times similar to his 500cc Grand Prix bike, he found the car difficult to drive and subsequently bent the car against a guard rail. He also crashed and totalled a Mercedes Benz AMG in Targa Tasmania.
AHA, Travis is that Freestyle motorsports dude, who is always injuring himself and has good results and is well known, i don't think he has driven an F1 car, but he has Raced against Mcrae and Kovaleinen in the American rally extreme stuff...

Maybe it wasn't Doohan, but it was another 500cc champion of around that same era, and I think another Australian Honda rider, can't think of the bloke's name.... anyways, in his F1 test, he made it only one or two corners before spinning out and into a gaurdrail, and that was it.
Travis Pastrana did get to drive an F1 car, 2, 3, or 4 years ago. I can't remember which team's car it was, one of the backmarkers. He was told to stay behind a pace car, and he didn't want to, so he passed it. What he didn't know was that the team had a remote kill switch, which they activated, leaving him stranded on the track. They also made him walk back to the pits. End of story.

Who do we reckon will replace Alonso at McLaren? Another youngster, or someone more experienced?
Perhaps even a traditional "No.2" driver, someone a bit past-it, simply to back-up Hamilton?
[/quote]
Button I reckon.

Okay, so I was a bit early with this prediction....
