Thinking of getting a - wait for it - X-Bow

Post by Hedge » Thu Oct 14, 2010 7:39 am

I'm mulling over getting an X-Bow, flogging the Atom. In white (below) looks lush, I think.

Been thinking about going to the dark side now for a wee while. Even in the period leading up to when I took delivery of my new job back in July I was having these panic attacks!

What to do?!!!

Cheers, Hedge

Do it, it'll be better suited to your pedestrian pace

I suppose you've already made up your mind.  At the end of the day, change is often a good thing but at the same time its also about what you want from the car.  I'm not a massive fan of the xbow as it doesn't seem to excel in anything however i love the fact its there and that it seems to be pushing the boundaries from a styling, composites in a sports car perspective.

Do you think the Multipla chip will work in it too?

What's taking you in that direction? Looks, aero, just a change? You have not seemed happy (certainly not blown away) with your 3 since you got it.

I had a sit in an X-bow (helping a US Atom owner out) and was very impressed by the all round fit and finish, however I could not convince myself it would be a practical option as a road car, which is the majority of my current Atom mileage.

The Street version looks good but the Clubsport version is perhaps better suited to your needs given that you like to go on track too.

Got more carbon on it too ;)

I can see why you would me missing your old 245. You could flog the 3 and go back to the 2. I'm sure Dawsey could be pursuaded ;)

It's none of these things really. I just fancy a change I think....

My car took almost 3 years to arrive. It was almost twice what I paid for the "interim" car I enjoyed in that time. It's nothing like twice the car to drive.

I always get itchy feet with cars after a while. I don't think the Atom's gona be any different. I also don't think that just whacking a blower on it shall change this feeling either.

I'll never get shot of the Multipla though, Johnny-boy  :-*

Cheers, Hedge

If I were you Hedge, I'd do it.  Looks like a lot of kit for the money.  Just don't prang the thing!

Go for it, if you want to be seen in something that looks like you should be wearing Imperial Trooper armor while driving it.

I can think of a lot of cars that are different or a change to the Atom, and come in white, but it wouldn't be a good enough reason to buy most of them.

Are KTM's much narrower than Atom's ? Trailer makes it look like they are.
Atom 4, Mclaren 720s, Audi Rs4, VW ID3.....
