Hi Bruce:-

Ferrari 360 Modena Coupe Manual

Rosso Corsa Red

Creme Hide with Red Piping and Red Carpets

Scuderia Wing Shields

Red Brake Calipers

Full Leather Rear Shelf

Full Leather Head Lining

CD Player

Remote Alarm

Nav Track

Battery Conditioning

Have seen this car and the spec is just right, just heard reports that they a prone not to start after being stored for a while and that bits are liable to fall off and in general reliabilty is not too good.  Could all be salesmans chatter to keep me on their brand of course.

Possibly off topic but what kind of 2@ pays money for these, they ruin the looks of most modern Ferraris and are only really excusable on the race cars

Beaten by Hedge.  Please don't take offence as I appreciate it is impossible to find a second hand car without them (seemingly) but I really don't like them.

Not really took that much notice to be honest.  If they are on the car so be it. Don't think I would pay for them though.    The spec you see here is a cut and paste for pistonheads of a car I looked at on Friday just trying to get the right price.

OK...

If you use it every day, then you will have better reliability. Ferraris don't like standing around doing nothing - even the 430 becomes recalcitrant if you leave it for a few weeks...

Bits do fall off but that's part of owning a supercar. The Atom needs t.l.c. as well...

The spec sounds eminently resellable if you don't get on, so if you have the cash, don't mind losing some of it immediately, then go for it.

Trying to negociate at the moment to keep the cash loss to a min.    Have walked away to see how desperate the seller is.

Thanks John

My 2 cents if you want them...

I seriously looked at getting a 360 myself at one point, but ultimately decided not to for the following reasons:
  • Assuming I spent around 70k buying it (from a dealer) I realised I would lose getting on for 10k once I'd driven it off the parking lot (in terms of what they would give me back on it if I wanted to hand it back)
  • I was pretty dismayed by the way paint had flaked off various trim bits and pieces on a 2-year old car
  • servicing horror stories
  • Speaking to a couple of ex-owners (both had converted to Porsche turbos) they confirmed the stories of people spitting on them/keying them, etc
  • I had a test drive in an Atom...
..all of which (bar the last one) is a real shame, as the car I looked at sounded and looked fantastic, but ultimately I chickened out

However, I think if you've got relatively deep pockets, and don't mind occasional abuse, then go for it.

Cheers,
Rob

I have not seen a modern Ferrari without them for ages now so had assumed they were standard but I keep hearing they are an option!

I got one this winter and love it. Driving it is a 10.
When I am not driving it, I plug it in and have had 0 problems.
I can now dedicate my atom to the track. The luster of driving the atom on the street wore down.

Used to have a 360 CS - only problem I had was with the battery which could start the car about three times if used for short distances. Got stuck at Tesco once with a flat battery -plenty of young gentlemen asking me how fast she went. I tried to make it look like I was hanging around for the fun of it, rather than waiting for the man in the van with the portable battery. The wife was not best pleased.

Servicing can be done well by some independent specialists.

Servicing can be done badly by some main dealers.

and vice versa...

You have to be careful who you let get their hands on your baby!
