I like the concept of a Honda engined, tubular chassied, GRP bodied Mini, but it's not really for me.
[/quote]

Agreed. Seems to miss the point a bit too much. I am all for making classics drive well, like improving the brakes say, but I am not sure you could call that car a mini.

I'm not sure you could call any of BMW's Minis a Mini....

You can't and they have never appealed to me. The are no even mini with a small 'm'.

I've always wanted to build myself a stripped out Mini (the original one) racer with a new shell and all the mad racy bits that are available for them these days.

There's a company the other side of the country from you that specialises in putting Honda engines in the back of minis... Can't remember the name, but they were a possible for Ariel servicing at one point...

Z Cars I think.

Flip sorry, just saw there's been replies to this already.

Saw my first one on the road last week. Orange. Looked awesome - in a restrained sort of way...

Like the look of the new 458 Spider - what's not to like?

Some photos from my visit today. Shame to put a reg plate on really.

Panel gaps are fine - no glue showing!

Very, very nice car.

But please, from someone who short of a Lottery win will never own such a car. Drive it.

I can't be the only one to notice the more toys people spec on their Atom, the less they drive it.

"Sorry to be selling my Atom, all possible extras, best car I've ever driven etc etc; 2 years old, 3,000 miles' WTF.
