Wanted - Nomad 235 for road

Post by u412499 » Sun Aug 22, 2021 1:10 pm

I am looking for a fit which is not a million miles away from the following.

BASICS (IDEAL)
Nomad 235
oil cooler
standard suspension (see uprated suspension note under options below)
uprated brakes
front and rear bumpers
15" wheels with standard Geolander tyres
stainless fittings
passenger + clutch footrest
short final drive (cost of retrospectively fitting is not prohibitive)
aluminium radiator
road pack

OPTIONS I WOULD RATHER NOT HAVE (THE FEWER, IN TERMS OF TOTAL COST, THE BETTER)
cabin cover
hydraulic handbrake
heavy clutch
winch
lights above windscreen
uprated suspension (if standard suspension and Geolanders on 15" wheels do not make a deafening bang when a pothole is hit).

COPIES OF PAPERWORK NEEDED PRIOR TO VIEWING AND PURCHASE
Final spec supplied by Ariel to customer to confirm requirements.
All available service invoices and receipts.
Photographs which clearly show the condition of the car and how it is speced.

I have looked into insurance, finance and a transport carrier.

For a vehicle which is a reasonably close fit with good evidence of a service history which is not cause for concern, I will be able to buy at short notice.

The Ariel factory have 2 x Nomad 235 for sale - not a perfect match but may be of interest?

Thank you. Yes I have been looking at those 2 Nomad 235's on the Ariel site. The 2017 Nomad 235 at an asking price of £47k which sold about 6 months ago looked to be a closer fit. Unfortunately back then I was not in a position to buy.

Still looking if anyone has one to sell this autumn.

Basically I am looking for a low spec Nomad 235 in good condition. Would prefer not to go above £50k.

Still looking.

Less is more.

No supercharger, heavy clutch and ideally no lights above windscreen, winch, hydraulic handbrake, cover and spare wheel.

Will need to see some paperwork and would prefer not to go above £50k.

I take it you've discounted this green one on for £50k? https://www.db90.co.uk/used-cars/search ... eType=cars

I appreciate that it doesn't mention any service history, but with less than 1k miles, a trip to the factory as part of the purchase, would address that.

Yes thank you for that link. In terms of options and price that car would be a good fit. Perhaps it would be worth asking if the factory could provide me with details of how the car has been serviced at the factory. However one of the big draws to the Nomad for me is how it looks to me. Unfortunately I tend to shy away from bright green.

Thank you 8_enj. Judging by its BHP and Service History notes I see that the Nomad, for which bids are currently being placed on Collecting Cars, is supercharged. I'm really looking for Naturally Aspirated.
