Helper Spring pads

Post by GraemeW » Fri May 17, 2019 7:54 am

With the deterioration of my local roads, my car is becoming more and more clickety claky as the helper springs slap together. Initially it didn't concern me as it wasn't too much, but now its driven me to research the options a bit.

This is some of the previous discussion...

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=14829&hilit=helper+spring+pads

Im not keen on the kitchen cabinet pads really, but prefer the mellado solution. Does anyone know where he sourced these from? I don't think he's on this forum anymore, perhaps he's sold his car? Last active about a year ago. I would be happy to organise getting another batch made up if I knew the supplier? I am sure there would be at least ten new orders.

Thanks

I am also after a set, but this is Graeme's post so he obviously gets first refusal.

Thanks Thomas I will have those. Will PM you.

I still think we should order a batch of these as there’s still some demand. Anybody out there know where they came from ?

Meladdo knew a 'friend of a friend' who did a custom production run of the minimum quantity ..

Looks like you may need to try and contact him to persue this particular product item.

Thanks John. I’ve emailed him rather than PM as it seems he’s not using Forum at the moment.

I will report back if I hear from him and get another batch ordered

Ive heard back from mellado. They cannot be re-ordered. It was a one off as his contact has moved on from where they were made. We will have to try and find an alternate supplier

I finally got around to fitting the set I purchased, but because they were old the adhesive on many of them had deteriorated. So I was only able to fit a set to the front helper springs, and what a difference it makes. So I would be in the market for a new set, and perhaps a number of you wold be also?

I think cheeky_chops if you can pursue your contact to get a quote? PM me your details and I can send you one of the spare rings?

I had the original ones fitted Graeme and they made a huge difference. I would be interested in getting another set as mine are working their way out as the adhesive dies. Let me know how you get on. I'm not sure where you would start with this tbh
