Name changing

Post by dogs_bolox » Tue Mar 06, 2007 9:10 pm

Is there any way I can change my name. I chose it when I was young and thought it was good  ::). Is there anyway that I can change it to Carl Howell or something?
Thanks

I think you can now do it online here.

I know, it was just a bit of good old Scouse humour.  ;D

I think you might be able to just go into:-

Profile then Account Related Settings and then you should be able to change Name: This is the displayed name that people will see.

Hey presto dogs_bollocks should become Carl Howell or something.

But that's only my guess.  :-\

***EDIT***  Ooops, someone beat me to it while I was typing.

Yep, that's correct.  You can simply update the name that's displayed on the forum so you don't really need to update your username - although I think you can do that anyhow from your Profile -> Account related Settings -> Change (under the Username bit).

Cheers, Ross.

The username as such can not be changed by a standard user, probably by an Admin (this would explain why you are able to do so).
The displayed name (underneath the username in the Profile) can. My user name is KK, my displayed name is 1st Austrian Atom 2 [Klaus]. The latter is changeable.

Mr. Woolery is dead. Long live The Masked Spaz.

BTW this also changes all your old posts to display the new name which might put some inline comments in other's posts out of context.
