The only problem with that John is that you lose the dates for each Event Album (Folder).

If anyone actually likes my idea!!  I'll go into each dated trackday folder and add the date as a comment then it could be moved into that tracks general folder.

The general folder is already there. You could upload all your picts right now, then a moderator can come along later and create the subfolder after the fact the way I'm thinking. Of course i would love it if you would go into and comment on all the current pictures, way too many of them even have a basic description. They lack any context. Names, dates, places, storys about the day, etc... all of it also would be searchable if descriptions or keywords were in there. Castle Combe 27.01.07 is being created right now for you.

Ok your category is created. Hows that for quick? Just a hour and a half or so.  :) The problem with that many folders is it's still too difficult to track down a specific picture. When there get to be that many albums with 4-5 track days at a single track then we can create a sub-category within UK track days. The drop down list will always be a pain, limitation of the software. But at least you can 10 picts at a time right? This will evolve over time... Right now I'm just trying to bring some responsiveness and organization to the gallery. I can limit the drop down list but it requires I lock uploads to those albums for anyone other than admins. Probably not an issue on stuff going back 2 years or more. I'll go ahead and do that for everything from 2005 and earlier so it'll help you out there with a shorter list to cull through.

PS: I need an Description for your new Castle Combe album, short sweet, a sentence or two. Maybe who went, what kind of day.

Who is NSPCC? (I'll google them) Were there other Atom people there? Write descriptions like your telling a 14 year old. Odds are they are looking at our picts. Take the opportunity to educate them. I know my nephew looks at the gallery from time to time. You just have to keep it short. Not picking on you, I want to make a point that this could be one of the best PR things the club could do beside actually showing up at charity events and hoons. People are visual and when I first found the gallery I looked at every pict and read every caption trying to soak it all up.

I looked at their website, nowhere do they actually tell you what it stands for! Protection, Prevention etc... who knows, even more possibility than those. I'm amazed!

The British psyche is best explained by the fact that we have a NATIONAL Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, and a ROYAL Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

i.e. in the greater heirarchy, kids aren't as important as animals
