I knew that. I was speaking  from the average posters perspective. We all know Mods and admins have powers to change a lot. Short of WHO made the post and the Edited By comment at the bottom all bets are off.

When you reply to a thread you can change the title to your reply but not the general title (I think).

To change the general title you have to go into the first post and change the title there ie the person who started the  thread or a moderator.  (I do this quite often on events threads to add a date that makes sense ie rather than a title that read let's meet next Friday I'll add the actual date the Friday may be!)

here's something interesting, I just noticed....at least I think this is interesting

When you change the subject line, you don't get email updates letting you know someone has replied to you post...Is that correct?

I turned that option off ages ago, my in box was getting swamped!!

Same here, but the odd thread pops up every now and then when an old one is resurrected by someone as you have to cancel each thread separately, which is a pain.
