You may see a warning on opening the forum

Post by John Scherrer » Sun Nov 28, 2021 9:32 pm

It appears that the site's SSL Security Certificate has expired, so your browser will probably suggest that the site is unsafe.

I have PM'd this info on the admins section, so hopefully it will get sorted soon.

Meantime, in this particular case, it's probably safe to click the Advanced button and say load the page anyway .. once the cookie has been updated it won't nag you again on future reloads.

Thanks Ian!

For those not aware - Secure Socket Layer whose job is to encrypt the link between the site’s server and the end user’s web browser. The certificates aren’t free and they ensure transactions and site data are private and secure.

John's bob on bar one small tiny tiny thing... you can use LetsEncrypt for free, but you have to renew the cert every 90 days for it to stay valid... there are tools that will do this for you, especially in the linux world, but still better to do it the way Ian has.
