Brake & Tire Technical Seminar Feb.9, 2008 @ Sector111

Post by shinoo » Sun Jan 13, 2008 7:34 pm

Sector111 is hosting a Tech Seminar at our shop on Saturday Feb9.  You are cordially invited to hear about the latest brake and tire technology from industry experts.

Barkes: APRacing's Road Car Brake Engineer, Tom Frenc.  He will be visiting us from the UK to talk about the coolest brake developments from AP's Racing Dept.

Tires: Mike Shin fom Toyo Tires will be speaking about their new R888 r-compound tires.

We will be serving pizza and drinks.  Come on out and meet other sports car enthusiasts -  we mostly expect Lotus.  We expect to start the fun at around 10am.  The AP seminar will begin promptly at 11am.  The Toyo seminar is expected to begin at 12:30pm.  We are also likely to take a fun drive afterwards....

Shinoo would I still benefit if I don't have the AP brakes but the willwoods?  Regarding the Toyo R888's, how do they compare in price to the AO-48's.
Cheersâ?¢

Definately.  The AP engineer will be talking about brake technology and open to any questions you have.  R888s are competitive with A048s - price wise with potentially more life.  My rear A048s lasted less than 4k miles - of course I did enjoy them thoroughly at Hallet -  ;D

Come on David!  I'm counting on you freakin' out some people with your Gimp get-up.  :o  Should be a fun event and I know you'll enjoy the tech nature of it.

You've not left a space after 'order....' so it's been included with your email address and could cause you to miss any messages.

I assume that it should be shinoo@sector111.com for the RSVPs  :tu:

In the UK the R888s are about half the price.... is it not the same there? My A048s have only lasted 1400 miles!

If you can post any info you learn about the R888s here afterwards that'd be appreciated, particularly their thoughts on using the Super soft SG compound on light weight cars.

I wish I could attend this event, but I'm not in your area.  What I'd like to know is - how do the 888's compare to the softest compound A048's, are they softer, harder...+?
