S111 Winter Track Weekend (Spring Mountain, March 9 and 10)...

I'm thinking about going to this event at Spring Mountain Motor Resort in Pahrump, Nevada:

Anyone else here heading there, or have any comments from being there before?

yes I was just there for the last meet/race weekend with my SRA...

The facilities there are all top notch, it is an excellent resort not just a crappy track in the middle of the desert like most SoCal tracks I have to endure. There's a nice clubhouse, pool table, swimming pool & gym. The atmosphere is relaxing but also friendly and professional.

The track itself is huge and very well maintained. You'll get as much track time here as you could ever wish for. There's no pressure to drive fast if you don't want to, especially as you can go 10 laps without hitting traffic! There are run groups scheduled but you can just use the track whenever you want really and it'll get even quieter later in the day. There's an instructor on staff to help but also plenty of people willing to give you tips or a ride along. plus with Sector111 and TMI staff on-site it's a great opportunity to talk about Atoms and any/all mechanical questions you may have.

Many of the SMMR members are Radical owners so you'll share some time on track with them too (that could be a good or bad thing depending on the way you look at it!) plus whatever other exotics/misc cars they decide to bring. (I've been on track there with Lotus, Ferraris, Vettes, Ford GT, Mustangs, Cadillac CTS-V) You may also get a ride in something special if you're lucky :) (I got a ride in a 458 last time)

The Condos on site are excellent if you choose to stay there versus staying in town at a Casino/Motel or in Vegas as some people who traveled in from the East Coast chose to do last time. (Vegas is ~55 miles away so that's appealing to many.)

Plus there's the SRA race to watch, which is a lot of fun as a spectator... you may even get to see someone drive into me again (yes that happened!)

The East Coast SRA race guys are all very nice and following them around for a few laps I learned more last weekend than in many previous track weekends. My lap times got way better even as my tires got way slower.

I took my Wife along and she had a great time especially as a passenger in a Radical and driving my Atom on the skidpan (available all day long to just screw around on which is great drift practice!)

If you're on the West Coast and own an Atom you really should head to Spring Mountain for a fun weekend with your virtual Atom friends, otherwise... well I'm just not sure why you would own an Atom and choose to miss this?

Hope to make it up there by Friday evening for the 3/9-10 event.  Sounds like the Feb weekend was a good one!

Heads up for this event. I had been at this event before and had a great time. It's all about racing and car lovers and exclusively for crazy drives ;)  :D

I'm booked and looking forward to going - AZAtom and I will be driving from Phoenix, leaving early Friday morning, so if anyone else is near and wants to join the pack, let me know.  ;)

No worries.  We will take plenty of pics and rub salt in the wound once you get back to AZ!  :vroom:
