Water injection kit install

Post by bolus » Fri Sep 07, 2007 6:53 pm

Anyone have a good picture of how the Masterlube accumulator is attached to the back of the engine?  I need to attach a tank for the water injection kit I am adding and putting it into the same spot as the accumulator makes the most sense.

Thanks

(changed the title so I can post my install pics here)

If your using a digital camera it's overall better to use the flash in a darker garage for engine picts or under the hood than on a car out in bright sunlight. The fill from the flash produces better picts,. If in daylight make sure the flash is set to on or there will be black holes where there should be detail showing. Ever se picts of folks out in bright sunshine and there eyes are in shadows. The flash is your friend. Just a thought as I learned the hard way some years ago. :)

Bolus can you please explain to me what water injection is and how it works? Does water actually get injected into the cylinder or is it used to cool the engine?
Cheersâ?¢

Looks very tidy. Any plans/guess as to how high you'll run the boost?

just as a thought, how cool will the water be in the tank located in the engine bay versus somewhere else...not suggesting that you change anything just curious.....OH YEAH AND BORED SINCE I CAN'T DRIVE MY CAR :'( :'(

According to Darth, the only thing I need to worry about is melting the hoses to the tank.  Otherwise it wont matter (unless I use 100% methanol or something)

I've got the pump.  And all the fittings... well.. most of them.  But now I'm trying to find a sheet of 5x14" sheet of aluminum plating I can mount all of the gadgets and dohickys to, so it doesn't look like a 5 year old installed it.  Another week and I'll be done.. .and then the 3" exhaust... and then pinky, we take over the world!
