Installed new speedo sensor and connector with pigtail

Post by maverick1 » Sat Jan 31, 2009 10:31 pm

I installed the new speedo sensor today and test drove the car and the speedo worked. There are 2 wires coming off the sensor. If I had mixed up the wires would the speedo still have worked?
My speedo read around 71 mph at 3000 rpm in 5th gear. Can someone please confirm if this is the correct speed for the gear and rpm?
My speedo sensor was char grilled from the exhaust leak and I was wondering if I have to re-calibrate the speedo or just install the new sensor?
cheers

Sounds about right...

Borrow a portable GPS if you need to calibrate acurately...
