Is there a way to use it on demand with a switch mounted on the dashboard to have a look behind while driving?
Should be doable to have a relay disconnecting it from the shifter reverse position?

Not sure about how it’s wired in the A4? But generally the signal wire to reversing cameras will either be tied to ground or +12v to activate the display. Pretty easy to check with a multimeter and the pin out from the aim dash etc. If you wanted to add a button or a toggle it should be pretty easy but I’d be very reluctant to start chopping into an Atom4?! loom unless you are very comfortable and know what you are doing!

Maybe see if the factory have done a similar mod - they’d probably help out assuming it’s not illegal etc..
