My car has now done 3741 miles, which includes 5 track days and some (ahem) spirited driving.
Took it out for a spin (not literally) today and was treated to very loud squeals from the front brakes.
Checked the discs when I got back could see and no scoring, but I couldn’t see the depth of pad material as it was a) too bright and hot and b) I needed a cold beer.
So, first question is, does the 3.5 come with pad wear indicators?
Second is, do the Alcons normally squeal when they have been heat cycled?
Third is - how long have your front pads lasted?
Cheers

Re: Squeaky brakes
I've done a lot of miles on Alcons. Sometimes they squeak, sometimes they don't. A bit of grease on the back of the pads apparently helps, but I just refuse to be bothered by it. I think that a period of squeaking is not permanent, it'll go.
Good news is that no Prius has squeaky brakes so you're a winner!

Re: Squeaky brakes
You probably need you're brakes to get a very spirited series of stops to deglaze the pads.
With normal road use it's almost impossible to stop it happening.
Answer = another track day.
Win, win.

Re: Squeaky brakes
Winmoz I agree with Alan. It comes and goes. I had terrible squeaking on rear Alcons in Switzerland. Now I’m back they don’t. I’m not sure what brings it on and takes it away again?
