Speed Bleeders and Alcon 4 pot

Post by smokin » Fri Jul 15, 2011 9:26 pm

Hi all,

Likely to be adding Speed Bleeders to my Alcon 4 pots. Anyone know the thread size? I've checked Alcon site without success

Thanks

Cheers John, useful doc.

The Goodridge Speed Bleeders on Demon T have these size options - 6x1mm, 7x1mm, 8x1.25mm, 10x1.25mm, 10x1mm.

Of the two 10mm options, 10x1mm seems most popular but I think I'll give the factory a quick call Monday before ordering.

Thanks

Hi Smokin

Did you manage to clarify which size Speed Bleed screw to use?

Have you fitted and used them?

Would you recommend them?

Thanks

Stuart

Hi Stuart,

Didn't manage to determine the size before I switched solutions and, since I have twin nips all round, went for a bleed bottle with twin hoses and no-return values built in. Not cheap, but cheaper than new nips all round. Still not used it though as new tester says fluids ok, so can't be sure I've made the right call.

If I recall correctly, the Alcon calipers (both small and large size calipers) use speedbleeder part #SB3824.

Are they any good though or for the once a year the fluid changes is it better to stick to a conventional bleed nipple ?
