Oil pressure switch (Dash 2)

Post by stupot » Sat Apr 20, 2013 6:14 pm

Hi, can someone with the latest Dash 2 do me a huge favour. I think I have an oil pressure switch or wiring issue. Can you disconnect the oil pressure switch; it's the black plug above the oil filter. When you then turn on the ignition can you tell me if the dash reads 1 or 0? I think it should be 1 as it's no longer grounded.

Thanks

Thanks Simon. That confirms it's a switch or wiring issue. Relieved it's not a pressure issue :)

Happy to help Stu.

Does this mean that a failed wiring/sensor gives the impression that oil pressure is ok when in fact something in the system is wonky? Or am I being stupid? Does happen!
Simon.

Hi Simon, the opposite. I had no pressure according to the switch but when I disconnected it it was still showing 0. I am now sure pressure is fine and that it's a wiring issue. I think the idea is if you have a switch issue it defaults to 0 so you take notice.

Thanks for your help.
