My first track day in my Atom 4.

I put my Atom on the track settings for Ohlins as advised by Ariel manual. She performed well and much faster than I was willing to go. I have had some fast cars, but never as willing as this to turn laps. I came back into the pits expecting her to be hot and wanting a cool down, but she was ready and willing to do more laps, no brake dust, the Avon road legal track tyres only showed a scrubbing in wear.

I turned a 1:52 second lap and never was close to it's capability. My braking points were way too early, I could have leaned harder on the tyres (1.1g max) on every corner and I was reluctant to go for full throttle. This is one fast car and cheap to run fast multiple laps on track.

Lovely scream's emited from the air intake at some corners. Seemed the Atom was enjoying the track with a 'whoopeeeee'

I enjoyed this first track day and look forward to my next.

They really are reasonable to run on track, just as you say. It's pretty much pads & tyres & that's it. As long as you look after it/ do the sensible things (cooling down periods etc) you'll get a ton of laps out of them. No engine rebuilds every 5k, either.

Cheers,
Hedge

Trackday 6/8/2021

As I thought the Atom is much faster. 1:47.08 and still not pushing the Atom to it's limits. Running on Avon ZZR's and no wings.
