Hi

Looking forward to meeting you at Spa on Tuesday, we have garage no. 17 booked, 6 of us in there, I'm sure we can squeeze in one more.

2 of the guys regularly run slicks, I stick to Kumhos, one other is shod the ZZR's as per the 4, interesting to compare.

Bill

Hi!
I try two size on Yokohama A005T.

190-580-15 Front
210-580-16 Rear
It works well, but gear ration seems very short with it. Shoulders are very square on 210-580

Then, i try
190-580-15 Front (same)
230-630-16 Rear
I find it better, the engine doesn't suffer (it works even better, maybe because high revs are longer), and the tyres have rounded profil (sorry for my english).
It's perfect for me.

I haven't tried other brands on slick.

Tried Hoosier and Avon slicks for formula cars and Hoosier A7 autocross compound. Had success with both in 245/295 and 245/355. The car shines with heavily staggered patches in a compound that works at low temps.

Huh? Is this sentence the victim of the auto-spell checker or is it just me ? :wize:

Is it the staggered tires bit? Perhaps not a phrase in worldwide use. The counterpart is square tires, where the width of the fronts is equal to that of the rears.

Don't know if they are available in the UK but I'm a big fan of the BFG R1S. They are a bit cheaper (not by much but some) than the Hoosier A7 but twice the wear rate and 95% of the same overall grip. I'm running them here in CA and they handle heat well but have good grip at 60 degree temp, though not as much.

Did you really mean 'twice' the wear rate or did mean, by any chance, 'half' the wear rate?

i.e. they last longer although the grip is slightly less!
