Anyone for some Castle Combe Track Day Action?

Post by Peter255 » Fri May 04, 2018 12:35 pm

Not sure if this should be in the events section....

Thinking of booking a few days over the summer. These are ALL the days i can see direct or through a reseller.

Friday June 1st £170
Saturday June 9th £170
Monday June 11th £209
Monday June 18th £179
Friday June 29th £170
Monday July 9th £209
Friday July 13th £170
Monday July 16th £199
Monday July 23rd £179
Saturday August 4th £189
Monday August 6th £209
Wednesday August 8th £170
Friday August 10th £170
Monday August 20th £179
Friday August 24th £170

Anyone without a sports exhaust shold be fine with noise at Combe.
I've certainly never had any issues with a charged car and decat.

Anyone up for it post your preffered dates and lets see if we can get a little group together.

And finally a personal request. PLEASE can we get some Nomads along. Really want to see / ride in one on track. Do I need to post in the Nomad section? :H:

Cheers
Peter

I think I've blown my track day budget at Spa for this year, but I'll come along anyway as Combe is just down the road.

9th of June?

Am eating into my annual leave (will need to WFH to get the car down to the fact for a post build spanner check) so a Saturday would be ideal.

Cheers,

Steve

I’ll come along to the 9th June - are we booking together or individually?

Car booked in for 500 mike service for the end of May so definitely up for this.
Assume we’re best to book individually. Will post back here when booked.

Cheers

The idea guys it to collect all your thoughts / availability BEFORE booking. Then we try to all book the date(s) most of us can make.

I'll start up a list and please copy & paste your thoughts onto it. Like this. I will remain flexible and go with the flow.

Friday June 1st £170 irg100 booked!
Saturday June 9th £170 Winmoz and Kai interested
Monday June 11th £209
Monday June 18th £179 Not ideal for Peter255
Friday June 29th £170
Monday July 9th £209
Friday July 13th £170
Monday July 16th £199
Monday July 23rd £179
Saturday August 4th £189
Monday August 6th £209
Wednesday August 8th £170
Friday August 10th £170
Monday August 20th £179
Friday August 24th £170

Anyone else?

But feel free to book what you want obv. :) :vroom:

Am now booked and confirmed for Castle Combe on the 9th June.

Plan to take it gently as this will be my first track day in the Atom but the forth car I have taken there. Fair to say the Atom has the highest power to weight of them so far.

There’s still spaces if anyone fancies joining me.

Sorry mate. I can't make it.

I have Silverstone on Sunday and I can't take a whole weekend away from the family.

Take the offer of a free run around in the school cars after the briefing to learn the lines.

Tower drops away and tightens. Turn in later than you think.

Take care over Avon rise. Too fast impacts the braking for Quarry. Get it lined up and settled again afterwards before braking for Quarry.

Have fun and post us some pics / vids. :vroom:

Peter.

Thanks Peter,

I’ve driven Croft in my Scooby and my Seven, but expect the Atom will be quicker pretty much everywhere. My Seven basically stopped accelerating at 90 down the start straight so Quarry was pretty easy to nail (it was geared for sprints). The corner I always struggle with is Camp Corner, the corner leading onto the start straight. I am always wary of overdoing it and connecting with the pit wall and then end up taking too much speed off on entry and then getting over excited and getting on the gas too soon on the way through. Practice, patience and trust in the contact patches is required methinks.

Yeah I get a bit there too, especially as there was a change of tarmac there which could unsettle the car. I remember in the rain ending up on the infield in the run up the the final corner just after the pit lane entrace! Gets a bit slippery!

Enjoy though Steve, look forward to an update.

Hi all,

Dates are booking up fast. Let get something planned.

Saturday August 4th £189 - Peter255
Monday August 6th £209
Friday August 24th £170 - Peter255

I want to grab a couple of the above. Current thinking is above. I will probably book by early next week.

If your interested pop your names above.

Cheers
Peter :vroom:

I might come along on Saturday 4th - let me check.
Who did you book through - motorsportevents or direct with track?
