Abingdon - May 19th
Hi,
I've booked to do a day at Abingdon Airfield, on 19th May. I wondered if anyone else was going?

Re: Abingdon - May 19th
I was just looking for another excuse to go there again, now I've just found it!
BOOKED :-)
Kezzie - Any chance you're there in May? Was a shame to miss you on the April date.

Russ,
Glad you enjoyed yourself while some of us were struggling with moving boxes, furniture etc.
I saw you clips on YouTube and looked like you had some fun.
I bumped into Natasha at the local chip shop and she was impressed with the Nomad and posted a few pics on their Facebook page. She also mentioned that there were a few transgressions of the rule, hopefully not by you, including someone's Crate of Ham losing a wheel
Anyway, to answer your question about 19th May, yes I will be there so I should be able to take some action pictures.
Let's hope the weather is reasonable and I may even turn up in the Atom.
Adrian

Re: Abingdon - May 19th
Glad the move went well... Look forward to catching up in May!
It seemed a tight course this time especially when I was getting used the car. The chicane half way down the runway was like a Scandinavian flick to the Nomad, hence one of the spins in my videos. I did kill a few cones accideentaly and got sin-binned for killing a few more, I did get the hang of things by the end of the day. I have to say it was a very well run and safe event, all in good spirit.
There did seem to be a few race prepared cars there this time, one of which lost a wheel at the bottom of the runway... They were also doing the majority of the cone killing in the morning, I'm still debating if the Nomad has enough ground clearance to clear the cones.

It's a shame that you can't have a go at the Army's "off road course" they have there.
You'd definitely find the clearance limits of the Nomad on there.
On a side note, Imber village is open over the Easter weekend if you fancy a trek out sooner.

Looking at this Phil. Been meaning to do it for a while....
310=325! That'll be the Presidential Remap kicking in...
Re: Abingdon - May 19th
Would be good to see you there Alex.
Honestly, I'm going as a) it's <10 miles from where I live, b) it's cheap, c) it's got mahoosive run offs.
I've done experience days and the like (it's how I ended up buying an atom), but never driven a track in my own car.
I figure it'd be good to get the hang of the car somewhere with plenty of room, prior to Castle Coombe.

Nice work Pete. This date is working better for me than CC and I"ve wanted to do this for a while to boot so it may be more suitable given my restricted times atm...

Don't hang about too long as it's booking up fast.
Adrian
p.s. The run offs between the corner after the main straight and the pits entry consist of big banks & humps so if you plan on going off piste best not to do it here

I can remember an old chap managing to get over that large bank and upside down in an old Mini a few years back
I like Abingdon as an Airfield Circuit, it does wear out tyres though!
Cheers,
Stu
