Hankook Slicks - Anyone used them?

I've been offered a pair of Hankook 200/580 R15 and pair of 210/610 R16 slicks.

Anyone know if these 'suit' a lightweight Atom and whether they fit beneath the wheels arches.

Having never driven a car with slicks I fancy having a go but not if they're the wrong tyre.

What advantage over AO48's would you expect?

Never even tried slicks but generically when warm they should provide even more grip than soft track day tyres (like the a048).

All aspects of grip (braking, cornering and accel) will be better, but the car will be harder to drive on the limit due to greater grip and more difficulty catching any issues at far higher speed.

It will also put more stress into the chassis and drivetrain due to the greater grip.

I'd speak to the factory, and see if they have tried these tyres.

It can also be a very different set up with slicks, what compound etc?

My experience of them is limited to two wheels and it was a bit of a learning curve IME.

Give the supplier a call and ask them about applications. Main benefit is wear rate and consistent/improved grip.

I know Paul (Slayer) runs slicks on his 3.5R so would be able to help if you PM him I'm sure. He's more than helpful usually.
