If you race your Atom or use it hard on track, here's a place to discuss strategy and swap tips.

Thuxton track day?

Post by Peter255 » Fri Jan 22, 2016 9:54 am

Driving back from the factory I passed signs for Thuxton race circuit. >:D

It really close for me but the noise limit of 90dB has me worried.

Anyone been there and can comment on a decatted Atom 2 300 passing / failing the test?

Assuming the noise test is OK anyone up for it? £189 for full cct open pitlane.

15th April
24 June
9 September
21 October (too late IMO)

Cheers

Hi Pete,

It's a brilliant track and some fantastically quick corners.

I've done it several times but not in the Atom as I too, was worried about noise.

Last time I was there though, a chap was there in a 3.5, 310 which they let through (although I'm not sure it technically passed, even at 4,500 rpm)

I think you will need a cat to get close enough to squeeze through though.

I'll have a look at April and September, but will probably just bring the s2000.

Cheers,

I've been at Thruxton track days where an Atom or two have been going round.
They were run by Motorsport Events not the track.
They've got days on 15th April 24th June 9th Sept & 21st October.
If you've got the standard exhaust and cat fitted you should get away with the noise.

Std back box, but no cat.

Think I might be pushing my luck at 90dB.  :(
