Donington Park Friday 27th May

Post by ragezx14r » Wed May 25, 2011 2:36 pm

Hi all,

I've just booked on at Donington on friday with easytrack. I've been twice before in the Rage and it lashed it down both times. iPhone weather says its going to be sunny on Friday so fingers crossed.

So its been quite a month for me. Croft on the 2nd, Oulton on the 18th then Donington on Friday. My excuse? As well as getting to know my Atom i'm going to be out of action for a few weeks next month as i have a hernia operation on the 1st June.

Next on the trackday list is Anglesey on 18th June if i'm healed but i'm most looking forward to Cadwell. I've not yet booked on as i'll see how i go on but i'll do it soon.

Anyone on here doing Donington on the 27th?

Darren

The guys from Jersey Tim and Ian who came to Prescott and the H&H are likely to there with their Atom - I'll be there in late July but not next Friday unfortunately

An excellent day! Finally something clicked and i feel i got to know the track. Could be something to do with being in the Atom and not a Off Raod Buggy converted for track use!

As we arrived at the circuit it started to rain! Oh no not again. It was wet for the sighting laps but soon dried out after. Black clouds circled the circuit all day but we got away with just a few showers. In fact it would sometimes be raining at one end of the track and not the other! It brightened up in the afternoon resulting in the track getting very busy.

Not a good day for one guy in a Porsche GT3. His engine let go big style ending with all his oil on the circuit and a big hole in the engine block. He jacked it up to investigate and a bit of a piston fell out..Ouch. Oh yes and i was two cars behind him at the time causing me to spin off track!

Oh and i played with the suspension too! Starting out on 4 which i used for both Oulton and Croft (getting used to the car on factory settings first) then ended up on 7 all round.

No other Atom's there. A first of the three trackdays i've done in mine!

I have put a video on youtube, link below. Ends with the spin. Enjoy

Nice driving Darren - that's what we like to see, all those manky old bathtubs (Caterfields  ;D) being gobbled up by a proper car.....

Looks like you're enjoying the car and that Duck clutch is doing the business  :tu:

You are an inspiration Sir  :tu:

He didn't overtake me. I caught him up again!

Was there yesterday on a bookatrack day - brilliant fun - the Jersey boys Tim,Mark and Ian were there in their 3 245 and another really tall guy in a 2 300 - really liked the circuit but can't for the life of me imagine it as a modern F1 venue !!

Will be back in late July
