What a good day!
Weather was holding off until the start of the sighting laps when it started pouring down. Then showers on and off until lunch.
Held off all afternoon though and the track was dry by 2.30 until the end at 5.00.
Very twitchy in the wet, always felt on the edge of grip. Good fun though
Met Hamed, unfortunately without his Atom. Nice to meet you mate. Have fun at Donnington
There was also another Atom there. Black frame and panels, Atom 2 300 i believe but Tim the owner doesn't frequent forums.
Needless to say there was nothing that would get near my Atom.
I am in the process of editing a couple of laps filmed whilst the track was just about drying. The footage of later in the afternoon which was quicker is poor because of dirt on the camera. Blame goes to my co-pilot and brother-in-law who cleaned it often but with dry kitchen roll rather than wet I'll see if i can salvage anything.
I'm off to book my next trackday

Thanks John,
That was the aim. Druids was a nightmare until the very end of the day. So slippy!

Hi Darren,
Great couple of videos.
That Duck clutch set up you have looks a brilliant mod to your Atom
Full marks for being brave enough to tackle Oulton in the damp, in your Atom
Whilst at some point I want to do a track day at Oulton , I need to get to know my Atom more before I dare venture on track.
Keep up the good work,
Nicosan

Pulling 1.5 G in some of the corners, on a damp track. That's impressive. You're a brave man.

I like the look of the Vbox kit, but I would take those G levels with a pinch of salt. Obviously I don't know what tyres Darren was using, but it seemed to register 1.5 or more on some corners, where it just didn't look to be pulling that type of load. I am also not sure if the G level is estimated based on GPS information or if the Vbox actually has accelerometers. All just imho.

I was on A048R's. Not sure if it does have accelerometers

Both Vbox and Vbox Lite use GPS data for acceleration but they claim accuracy to +/- 0.5%

Again just imho, but I would say from what we have seen that is tosh.
