Hi Fiesty,

To be a real anorak, the foreground is the A12 Blackbird and behind it the SR71. I am sure both were at Edwards, but now at the Blackbird Air Park at Skunkworks in Palmdale (Plant 42).

Well worth a visit as the guide is a volunteer who flew them for 5 years. Sadly, but unsurprisingly, Palmdale had a fully functional simulator, but decided no one would want to go in that so it went to Texas for free where it is just a STATIC display! Absolutely no one would want to feel what it's like to take off at 240mph and fly at 2200mph would they!

You grow hay in a meadow, there does not appear to be livestock in it so that rules out paddock or field.  Yard is hard standing, enclosed and next to a house (although my dic' does give the USA description as "the space next to a house is called a yard even if it has grass, trees and flowers".)

So if it's next to a house and you can see some flowers I guess it's a yard.

I'll go with garden.

Looks like a freshly mowed Field next to a Yard. Definitely not a Garden as there's no flowers or food growing from the look of it. Not enough trees to be a Grove.. Wondering why Curator didn't back the Atoms up to the bushes/trees before taking the picture, would look so much better getting them out of the dirt IMO...
