The two tree stumps are Ancient Kauri. The picture is taken at a company that extracts the logs from peat swamps, where the trees were buried some 25,000 years before the on-set of the last Ice Age. The 45,000 year old wood is then turned into beautiful wood products such as furniture, fine art and crafts.

This is as close as you can get to Crewkerne, Somerset from this part of the world. 11,258 miles.

This is less than a hour from where Apollyon and I both live. The road (SH16) that this photo is taken from is scenic and windy. A favourite for motorcycle runs.

I wish I had my camera today.

I caught up with a phalanx of slow poke Harleys half way along one of my fave routes today.

There's no point flying past eight part time Harley riders on a narrow road.
It annoys them and that may not be terribly healthy.

So I decided to call it quits in that direction, slipped off a side road, dropped a U-ey and started back the way I came.

Before I got up to speed, here comes a navy blue Ford GT at 35mph on this excellent road with four, count them, four motorcycle cops flanking his flanks
 
No lights \ siirens, or anything, just lurking.

I wished I had a camera, but hopefully you can visualise this?

looks very badly photoshopped.  Saw the SR71 at Duxford last week, amazing how much bigger than you expect it to be it actually is.
