Alternator replacement

Does anybody know if you can replace the alternator without pulling the engine on AA3? I have yet to take anything apart and I didn't know if it could be pulled without removing engine.

It can be done without removing the engine
It’s not a pleasant Job
Shock off tensioner pulley plus a lot of fiddling around
