What would be a good "vanity plate" for an Atom?
Re: What would be a good "vanity plate" for an Atom?
I have the following up on my white board, for contemplation/anticipation of my April 2007 delivery:
Note: In hawaii we get 6 characters, not 7.
ATOM
ATOMIC
NUKE
DABOMB
PROTON
NUQLER (yes, how George Bush pronounces it... ugh.)
NUCLIR
HV MS (my appraisal company motto is "Hawaiian values. Mainland speed."
1G TURN
GFORCE
U-235 (the isotope of Uranium used in early fission bombs - OK, that one's geeky)
ELEMNT
I may just be unimaginative, but I like ATOMIC best so far, though U-235 is pretty cool, too.

Uh... would that be Nasa's Space Physics Data Facility?
Or are you referring to electron atomic orbitals?
either way, shieahh! Geeky!

The latter... it was one of the ones I came up with before figuring out that ATOM II was still available.

Re: What would be a good "vanity plate" for an Atom?
Good one. Not many people would get it, of course. That's the trouble with really clever plates: they're often too clever for most people. I would be surprised if 1 in 100 people would get it. A bit like putting HRS 291 or 291-2 on your plate here in Hawaii. Maybe 1 in 100 would get it. But that one would laugh their 'okoles off, maybe enough to let me go with a warning.
Re: What would be a good "vanity plate" for an Atom?
It could backfire having names related to the bomb. After all a "Bomb" in automotive slang (here at least) is an old clapped out piece of shinola.
It's not the kind of leverage I would want to give someone who might want to slander your ride.

I saw a good one on an Elise here. "LUV G'S"
Of course the owner added the ' with a little vinyl tape.

My son has one on his Porsche that has a double meaning and would work on my Atom, just don't know if he'd give it up.

As there will never be anymore MK1s made, I was thinking " 1 OF ### ".
Does any UK member know how many MK1s were made?  (that's UK members that read topics under the THIS section  ;))
I looked for an e-mail address on Ariels website but there isn't one.  (don't blame them with all the spam that's around )

No, they told me when I brought it up that if anyone was interested enough to want an Atom they would write.

Actually, that's ring - the phone number's on the site... They're always happy to take a call...
I don't think we'll ever really know how many Mk1 s there actually were... so the good news is that you can make up any number you like!
