I'm going to the factory tomorrow to see my car in build. If anyone has any requests for photographs please let me know.

Could I ask, if anybody reading this is waiting for their IVA test, when they ordered their car?

So,

Initial Order July 2017
Spec 27th April 2018
IVA 12th October 2018
Collection booked 19th October 2018

The LAST supercharged Atom built by the factory and (I like to think) one of the best

3.5R
Sadev
Ohlins
Alcons front and rear
Dymags
CF seats
CF dash
CF front and rear wings
CF body set
CF mudguards
Tom Tom
Chromoly Aerofoil wishbones - just bling
3" belts
Remote brake bias
Stainless fixings
Al radiator
Baffled sump
Tracker

and other smaller obvious bits.

It's been a long wait.

Very nice order, especially the Sadev!
What made you go for the 3.5 rather than wait for the 4?
Is it is simple as having an amazing toy much quicker?

That definitely, also being told that they'll probably never make a car as extreme again and driving the 3.5R with Sadev is just mind blowing.
I like the supercharger and the screaming high red line but that gearbox just blew me away. Look at some online reviews.
I don't doubt the 4 will be great, but almost every change looks to be making it more grown up and sensible. I'm 61 years old, I don't need more grown up.
I am looking forward to the reviews of it though.
I love Ariel and I want the 4 to succeed but I worry it might have lost some of the insanity.

I’m very jealous, as I’ll be waiting till spring 2020 for mine.
I’m hoping by then there will be a cheaper option for the sadev. Where abouts are you in the country, if you are close I was going to ask to drool a little at yours! 🤤

West London. You'd be very welcome.
They assured me a sequential box would be available early on for the 4, but it wouldn't be a Sadev. Whatever it is I've enough faith to believe Ariel will do a blinding job with it.

Very nice spec, this car definitely needs a sequential gearbox that really what it was made for. All the other "similar" cars have a seq box; 620R, RXC, BAC Mono, SR3...

I hope the 4 will not be less raw. Given it has more more power and torque in stock, I'd hope the opposite. And now with a turbo it opens up much more options for tuning. With a supercharger this is expensive and more difficult as things run hotter.

I also hope there will be other options for a sequential gearbox like a Quaife option as the Sadev even though it's brilliant it costs more than double than that of the engine it's powering.

Which ever Atom you get, 1 thing is for sure and that is madness and a whole lot of fun!

Madness is the Ariel thing, no doubt.

Definitely not. They're now gearing up to make the 4s.

If you had ordered a 3.5 before the 4 was announced I think the factory will honour it. But it makes more sense to go with the 4 assuming some can wait that long!

Mine for certain is the last 3.5, there are no others in build. It only makes more sense if that's what you want, I chose a 3.5R now as that's what I wanted.
